Charmaine Elisa

Hi, I’m Charmaine :)

I am California born and Colorado raised. I am the mestiza daughter of Mexican-Apache-Irish-Spanish maternal lineage, and paternal lineage from Zacatecas, Mexico.

My vision behind A Charmed Life Wellness is to help people heal and (re)align to their highest and greatest good. Working in partnership with me is to AWAKEN your dormant consciousness and awaken to your own gifts. We seek to ALIGN to those gifts. And, we move to AMPLIFY those gifts - to empower you, in hopes of radiating your energy back out into your community, positively impacting the world around you.

Our goal in working together is: Optimal wellness designed by your body.

The call to begin my practice was shaped by a series of life-changing events that made it clear I needed to take action.

My frustration around the limitations of western medicine grew as I navigated a cancer diagnosis and treatment with my late father.

Shortly thereafter, my first-born developed croup and pneumonia which was dismissed by the pediatrician over several visits, misdiagnosed, and mistreated. After quite literally fighting to get my child the appropriate care, I began asking questions about preventative and proactive measures I could do to make sure we would not find ourselves relapsing. The doctors we were working with said, “No. We don’t do that.”

I knew I needed to do more. I needed to transmute my frustrations and disappointment into something constructive, something that could change the narrative for folks in my community. It was then that I began to reflect deeper on my own experience(s) in health and wellness as a kid, and realizing the traditions and indigenous practices that we didn’t label as such back then - but definitely kept me going.

I had to pause and tune into my own intuition.

I made the decision to return to school and took jobs that I hoped to learn from. I worked with an osteopathic doctor, then at a chiropractor’s office, I was a tobacco cessation coach, and worked in HIV prevention. At the end of the day I still remember feeling like, “there has to be a better way.” I saw practitioners of different modalities get fixated on what they know (and how they were taught) and holding philosophies that their practices were ‘the only way’ to achieve optimal health.

I knew the world of healing I envisioned was far more expansive than this.

I was fortunate to have incredible educators at Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative Therapeutic Practices. Following this, I sought out formal training for the Body Talk modality, and internships that shaped my current multi-faceted approach to awaken, align, and amplify your highest and greatest good.

I now have nearly 15 years of experience working in a variety of indigenous and holistic healing modalities. I have helped my clients work through physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual misalignments of all kinds. I am happy to work with children/teens, adults, and honored to work with elders of our communities.

I also feel lucky to share that my inner circle is full of other amazing holistic health practitioners so, if something arises that I feel would be better treated by another’s expertise, we will discuss those options as well.

Thank you for being curious, and doing your research to find a practitioner and path that resonates with you. I look forward to connecting with you and working collaboratively on your wellness goals!
